What this app does

The Bugpilot for LiveChat app makes it easy to collect detailed technical information from your end users right when they encounter a problem. With the Bugpilot for LiveChat app, you will be able to:

  • Receive detailed bug reports automatically right in your LiveChat sidebar

  • Easily open the bug reports and share them with your colleagues

  • Request a screen recording, or grab a screenshot with just one button

How to set up the app

If you don't have one, create an account on Bugpilot.

Setting up Bugpilot takes three simple steps:

  1. Install the app from LiveChat Store

  2. Pin the app in your Chats sidebar inside LiveChat

  3. Add the Bugpilot tracking code

1. Install the app from LiveChat Store

Go to your Bugpilot dashboard, and go to the Get Started page. Under Connect with your helpdesk, click on the Add to LiveChat button, as highlighted in the screenshot below:

After approving the necessary permissions, you will be redirected to the Bugpilot dashboard to complete the setup.

2. Pin the app in your Chats

The next step is to make your Bugpilot for LiveChat app stick to the sidebar and be available immediately when entering a conversation. To do so:

  1. Open Chats in your LiveChat.

  2. Click on the three dots next to Details.

  3. Find Bugpilot and drag it to the top of the list like in the image below.

3. Add the Bugpilot tracking code

Before Bugpilot will start working, you'll need to install the Bugpilot tracking code on your website or app. From your Bugpilot Dashboard, follow the instructions provided under Get the tracking code and follow instructions.

If you do not know how to add a tracking code to your website, send this guide to a developer: they will do it for you, and it will take less than 3 minutes.

After the setup has been completed, go to your website/app and start a conversation (as one of your customers would) from the Chat widget. Inside your Chats, for the same conversation in the sidebar, you will see a Bugpilot report.

You are ready to go!

Now every time your users start a new LiveChat conversation, you will get an automated Bugpilot report containing screenshots, technical information, browser logs, and network activity. For each user, you will also see the three most recent reports for the same user in your Chats sidebar.
